DAAAAANG, Josh was so amazing to work with. We had an idea for a custom built-in bookshelf that we wanted to created in our living room. But we had no idea about how to actually build it. We were looking to work with someone with a modern/rustic aesthetic who was committed to handmade high-quality craftsmanship. Josh has such beautiful furniture in his collection. He seemed like the perfect fit. We sent over some ideas with some pictures of our house, close-up pictures of all the wood grains in our house, information on the direction of sunlight in the room where it would be installed, etc. He was so committed and knowledgeable about the wood. It was clear that he had a deep understanding and commitment to all of the wood types that he works with. He calls his approach "slow furniture" and that is such a beautiful description: connections to local businesses, lumber yards, crafts people, students, and clients. We absolutely loved working with Josh and his team and are so incredibly excited about the bookshelves that he built for us. I told my husband: it's like the bookshelves were always there, but someone removed them, and we just finally got them back to where they belonged. 🙂

As am interior designer, I try to encourage my clients to shop local and invest in slow furniture with timeless design that will last for many many years to come. We were so happy with the extra large walnut dining table Josh designed and built for our client! Its is beautiful, every detail! In this day and age, it's hard to see and feel things before you buy them online, I loved being able to visit the shop and knowing that the piece was being custom made by an artist. The quality cant be beat, its worth every penny.

It's so hard these days to find quality craftsmanship and when I first saw Josh's work I knew I wanted it in our home. He created a astonishingly beautiful kitchen peninsula that tied our whole kitchen together. He made the effort to come visit our home (taking the appropriate COVID precautions), walked us through the process, and delivered an amazing piece of art that will have us never moving. Josh is truly an artist and you his vision is one you can trust. We def have plans to have him create more pieces for our home in the future. Can't say it enough, thank you Arbor Exchange!

I designed the Raleigh table for my own dining room and I was looking for an artisan woodworker to collaborate with to make the table a reality. Josh Jackson of Arbor Exchange in Pasadena and I share a passion for quality furniture, natural wood, and fine craftsmanship. Josh was quick to understand my design intent and offer his own suggestions throughout the process. In addition, he is personable, hardworking and professional. We communicated clearly with one another from the very beginning, which resulted in an absolutely beautiful heirloom quality dining table that will be enjoyed by my family for years to come. Absolutely loved working with Josh. He responded quickly to my request for 2 custom walnut cutting boards. They turned out absolutely gorgeous and he was so easy to work with. I also love that I was able to support a local business in Pasadena. He also gave me some beeswax and care instructions when I picked up the boards. You can tell he loves what he does and takes a lot of pride in his work. Even though his website didn't offer cutting boards, he was willing to work with me to make it happen - I appreciate that so much. Thank you, Josh and Arbor Exchange. I will treasure the dining table Josh made for us forever, and I know my children and their children will go on to treasure it too. For not much more than you would pay for furniture from a big-box vendor, you can can get gorgeous, custom-made furniture that you will admire every day. The craftsmanship is unparalleled - Josh hand-selected each slab and clearly arranged the grain so it would look stunning for every angle. And on a personal note, he and his team are a delight to work with. Highly recommend - you will not regret it!

This was my first experience with custom furniture and it couldn't have been better. My wife and I had Josh build a desk for our office and two floating shelves for our newly finished kitchen. You cannot beat true craftsmanship and this proved true with everything Josh did. He helped us select the right wood, made sure it worked with our space and answered all of our questions along the way.
