Just got a few yards of fabric from Design House, my first time visiting and as I prefer to shop online, I like that they have that option. Whilst their selection isn’t gigantic I think it is decent and if you like that you see on the website, the in-person version will not disappoint. They have lots of sales particularly easy to take advantage of if you have your eye on something and can jump on it during a flash sale, which they will occasionally deliver via text. If you want to make a really eye-catching gown or something similar they have a very nice selection of colorful and ornately decorated fabrics worthy of checking out in person. I’m just starting out sewing but the double gauze I grabbed was really lovely. The service was great and I like a business that occupies a particular niche and does it well. I’ll be back to visit again for sure!

Update: I’ve made around 10 orders at this point and just keep finding more great fabric at great prices. CHEAP elastic too, love this place and glad to support a small business. Design House is now one of my go-to fabric stores since their flash sales are just so good, and they do them often, so sign up for discounts!

From one black business to another, I truly appreciate design House fabrics. When I have to design for some clients I don't always have the option to shop online. Plus they are relatively close to home and I don't have to travel to or thru Atlanta with the crazy traffic any given time of day.
I truly don't understand how people can say that is why they don't support black business especially knowing how hard it is finding good help from anywhere. I would rather voice my concern privately with the manager and expect them to make corrections opposed to leaving bad reviews in hopes to diminishe someone's business.
Regardless, this is a great fabric store with unique selections that is closer to home and if your tapped in to their discounts program, you will enjoy it more.

I've ordered a few pieces of fabric from here. And there was a mistake in one of my orders. I emailed them, and they got back within the hour!! super, kind, and helpful!!! I love their txt message sale alerts I so happy I found a site that is fantastic with quality and customer service!!! 100% would recommend!!!

I visited this location recently and here are my comments:

1. I almost left because the sign on the door showed closed for that day.
2. The employee was not knowledgeable of the products - except for the price, of course.
3. Speaking of price - I thought the prices were astronomically high in comparison to competition. In fact, outrageously high.
4. Most of the fabric was good quality but not comparable to the prices they're charging.

Lastly, I try my best to support black-owned businesses, but the afore-mentioned is why I don't. This is also a testament of why it's so easy for foreigners to come into our country and take over!!!

Thanks for the quick reply! Even with monthly discounts, the prices are still not competitive. Regardless, just wanted to lend some feedback as a very popular/long-standing establishment will be opening doors soon just south of you. Just FYI. Again, thanks - take care and be safe!

So I don’t usually leave reviews. However, I was highly impressed with this company so I felt like I need to. Appliqué is beautiful and just as pictured. Illusion fabric is just as pictured and available when I couldn’t find any anywhere in my hometown or to ship. PLUS it got to me in 2 days honey. Will definitely be ordering again and adding to my stop list when I visit Atlanta.

While i have spent hundreds on dollars with this company with mostly the greatest intention being supporting a black business there are quite a few flaws that at this point can’t be overlooked
1. The website will say a fabric is in stock you can order and you will receive message or call stating they are out, ok cool no biggie
2. I have been trying to call for days now to inquire about a missing piece to a bodice that online states it’s the front and back piece, mind you i only received one sleeve and the back piece I’m now stuck with one sleeve and only the back
3. When you speak to someone whenever they are available most times the person isn’t really familiar with fabric
4. The descriptions on the website should be fine tuned to include whether the fabric is 2 way 4 way or no stretch so that the consumer has an option prior to purchasing

Blk own fabric store on the southside of atl. They have good solid fun fabric for mostly any occasion. They offer special occasions fabric, slik, Lycra, stretch vinyl and stone appliqué and bodices.

The place is a go to for all your sequin beaded fabric from all colors and designs. The prices are good as well. They do have array of other fabrics as well.
