Shipping was prompt and the delivery went very smoothly. These shores seem solidly built, and perfect for my application. We have an old beam and pier house that has settled somewhat, and there are a few spots where beams have been partly compromised by termites or simply by "repairs" done by prior owners. These shores are letting us augment the existing piers near these damaged areas, while allowing us to easily adjust the height as we slowly go about leveling the entire house. We may even replace all the interior piers with additional Ellis shores, just to make the leveling process that much easier. Great product!

When we bought this house the retention wall had a serious lean to it, 13°. We knew we had to do something with it but didn't quite know what. Every time we looked into an option it would cost an arm and a leg. I finally found these Kick Braces from Ellis Mfg and perfect! Instead of creating the footing and then installing the brackets, we fully embedded the brackets into the footing. Then we built a second retention wall in front of the first to cover the brackets and also add some interest. Aside from their solid construction and strength, it was the swivel end plates that made these Kick Braces perfect for this job.

I ordered qty=6 light duty steel lifting shores to shore up an external wall held up by the original aluminum post that were installed in 1987. Needless to say, this wall isn't going anywhere. The customer service team at Ellis was the best!

Great product. Had previously purchased some 4x4 adapters, and finally had to replace the full 6x6 support columns due to rot. My option was either a custom fabrication locally at 2-3x the cost, or this. Great solution!

The home was built with structural design errors where load bearing walls were not supported to the foundation. This created sagging and stress conditions which were compounded during storm damage. As we began the rebuilding of the home, new footers were poured in the crawl space and additional joists were added. Due to plumbing constraints on waste lines, the joists had to be split with extra jack posts. I installed 5 new jack posts to carry the weight of the new joists under the load bearing walls. These Ellis jack posts made the leveling of the three story home a breeze. It was raised two inches during the rebuilding process and now all walls are supported to the foundation. Love the ease and accuracy of these posts.

These STL-85 supports are perfect for my situation and easy to install. However I did purchase stainless steel thrust bearings to install between the main post and the turn-handle to make it turn easier under load. I have them temporarily installed with cribbage to get my necessary correct positioning to remedy my issue. I will later anchor-bolt the supports directly to the concrete basement floor and floor-joists.

Light Duty Steel Lifting Shores / Lifting Jack Post STL-10
Great product! We needed to shore up some supports under our home as 2 of the footings had sunken away. It turns out placing and adjusting the Ellis jack posts was the easiest part! We needed to move 1 cement footing out of the way, then back fill with gravel, replace the footing and level it...all taking several hours of back breaking work in our 2.5 foot crawl space. It took us about 15 minutes to install and adjust the 2 Ellis Jack posts! Super simple process. Shipping was quick. Nothing but good things to say. Great value and product!
