We've been working with Advance Sheet Metal for a while and enjoyed working with them up until recently. It is extremely apparent that they always put their employees first before customers, no matter the situation.

I ordered a transition from them recently, and it happened to be the wrong transition. I contacted them to tell them they we had received the wrong transition and that I just needed the correct one, I was not blaming them or anything of the sort, just trying to get the correct transition.

It appears the representative I was speaking with thought I coming off strong and was blaming him for the mix-up and proceeded to then put the blame on me, stating that I actually ordered the wrong part.
Given we are a business as well, we know to never blame the customer for a mistake, regardless of who made the mistake. It's simply bad business and unprofessional.

To make matters worse, the representative then told me that he will no longer accept orders from our company over the phone and will only accept orders via fax or email, all because of one wrong order.

I told him I needed to speak to his manager to sort this out and I gave him my information for the manager to contact me at. Later, the manager contacted me, however, he only contacted me to say his employee was feeling "threatened" and for me to leave them alone. He didn't mention the fact that I was told to only place orders via email or fax now, he only called to defend his employee. I was in complete shock and couldn't believe what I was hearing, nothing that I said, nor my tone was threatening. The employee was slandering me and our company to his manager for absolutely no reason.

The manager and I both agreed it would be in our best interests to no longer do business. Even though I was thinking the same thing, I was shocked that the manager was willing to let go of a long term customer over his employee’s false accusations of me.

I am extremely disappointed in the way this company is being run. I would never act so rude and unprofessional to a customer of mine, regardless of the issue at hand. Advance Sheet Metal clearly prefers to create problems versus fixing the original mistake and moving on.
